![]() Adoption Application Pet ownership is a serious responsibility. It is the policy of GPA Senior Sanctuary to assure that every person who adopts a Greyhound not only be aware of that responsibility, but that each person will be capable of and willing to accept that responsibility, morally, physically and financially. It is quite true that not every person who desires to own a pet should own a pet. Greyhound Pets of America Senior Sanctuary incurs considerable expense with every Greyhound that passes through its adoption program. The adoption fee is $185.00. This adoption fee assists and allows us to make the following provisions for these wonderful pets: It helps to cover a full physical examination from the veterinarian, vaccinations, the spaying or neutering, teeth cleaning, , worming, heartworm test, new safety collar and lead, a coat, I.D. tag, placement package, transportation from the farm and dog food for the foster program. The following questionnaire has been designed to aid both you and GPA Senior Sanctuary in deciding if you and/or your family are ready for the responsibility. Note: Applications are GENERALLY processed within 48 hours. Please refrain from filling out an application until you are ready to bring your greyhound into your home. *Note: If you have children under the age of 8, you will be encouraged to read the book Childproofing your Dog by Brian Kilcommons. We also do not regularly adopt to families with children under the age of 3. However, this may be decided on a case-by-case basis.
