Who we are

Greyhound Pets of America Senior Sanctuary of Florida is a nonprofit organization that provides shelter, medical care, and adoption services for senior greyhounds. The sanctuary was established in 2002 and has since served hundreds of retired racing dogs. The staff at Greyhound Pets of America Senior Sanctuary of Florida believe that all greyhounds deserve to live out their lives with dignity and respect. They strive to place each dog in an appropriate home situation where they can receive the love and care they need and deserve.

At the sanctuary, the senior greyhounds are provided with a variety of activities including daily walks, playtime, special treats, extra attention, and plenty of affection from staff and volunteers. In addition to providing shelter for these animals in need, the organization also helps to educate potential adopters on the unique needs of adopting a retired racing hound. • New Video Promoting Greyhound Adoption

Greyhound Friends of Augusta (Georgia) posted a link from their site to a song called "The Race" by Matt Dahan.  Matt wrote the song for his family's two adopted greyhounds.  After listening to the song, group volunteer, Alan Jackson purchased it, wrote out the lyrics, timed the song and scoured the internet looking for appropriate photos to make a slideshow video.  After viewing the
video, Matt gave Alan permission to use it to promote greyhound adoption.  You may view it on YouTube.

Nancy Bataille, former President, who received the Citizen of the Year Award from the Florida Veterinary Association at their annual conference in Orlando, Fl. She is pictured with Dr. Vincent Centonze, who nominated her for the award.
